MEG LEONARD FINE ART

Meg Leonard is a painter living in New Mexico  between the Sandia Mountain Range and the Rio Grande. This long-sought residence is a dream realized.  Growing up in the midwest with an early taste for wanderlust, she discovered New Mexico’s quality of light and unique landscape suited her palette and psyche. For thirty years in Wisconsin, raising a family and working as a full time registered nurse and professional artist, she traveled regularly to reconnect to the serenity found painting in the “Land of Enchantment”.

Her vibrant use of color and sensitivity to the earth contours are evident in pastel and oil paintings.  She prefers to paint from direct observation in the field, but finds the studio work more sublime.  In the maturity of her work, the paintings develop from information and joy within.

These characteristics were recognized by the marketing team and board of directors seeking a landscape artist to create a poster for the 2009 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the largest event in the state and the largest hot air ballooning event in the world. This was the first year the limited edition of 1,500 serigraphs was completely sold.
